The Position
To support the end-user through planned preventative maintenance contracts, on-site training, continuous improvements and full machine analysis improving high level productivity within the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Medical Device, FMCG and Foods sectors.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide front line technical support (Project a positive and professional manner and attitude at all times)
- Carry out maintenance, repairs and diagnostic activities
- Provide pro-active solutions for improved productivity (Energetic, dynamic and positive approach to challenging situations)
- Ensure Health, safety and welfare is a priority at all times
- Electrical & Mechanical (Mechatronic) fault finding
- To attend training establishments/on the job training as necessary (Have sufficient abilities to carry out demands effectively above present skills level)
- Customer satisfaction
- Liaise with Service Team Leader and Service Support Engineer on all issues and work progress
- Comply with and monitor Health and Safety requirements to eliminate or reduce risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support in-house by responding to issues over the telephone, email or online maintaining a detailed report of the requests and processes.
- Carry out in-depth maintenance processes on time with a “right first time” culture.
- Promote after sales services and identify areas of work using technical awareness on-site.
- Provide detailed written reports of all activities to the Service Team Leader
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations at all times
- Work safely using correct PPE for all duties.
- Maintain high level customer satisfaction.
- Ability to travel worldwide at short notice (UK Passport and Full driving licence required)
- To be self-motivated and have the ability to prioritise workloads within the time frame given.

Knowledge and Experience
- A sound technical maintenance knowledge within an automation environment

- Proven Experience of working in a precision machine manufacturing environment
- Proven experience of fault finding with mechanical / automation machinery

- Experience with Single Phase, Three Phase and DC circuits
- IT technical background with some commercial experience in a client / desktop support position.
- Sound understanding of electrical & mechanical components inclusive of pneumatics, AB servo components / control and PLC communication.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Recognised Apprenticeship trained in Mechanical / Electrical engineering disciplines
- HNC (Desirable) BTEC / ONC / City & Guilds or equivalent in all relevant engineering disciplines
- Strong Electrical / Electronic and Mechanical aptitude in automation machinery (Mechatronics)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to read, interpret and understand technical schematic diagrams
- Understanding of PLC and electrical components and be able to competently fault find on different types of electrical circuits and software.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Ability to develop solutions for production problems
- Ability to manage own priorities and adhere to deadlines

- Working Relationships with: All customers, Sales, Projects, IT, Controls, Electricians, Mechanical and Electrical design team, Stores, Production team.
