Financial Analyst – Treasury, Americas

Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst combines analytical skills with effective communication skills to provide appropriate financial information and undertake related accounts administration.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete month bank reconciliations for accounts held with two separate banks
  • Support timely month-end close process such as preparing and posting journal entries related to cash accounts
  • Perform daily bank analysis to ensure all cash receipts and payments initiated by accounts payable are posted in the ERP system
  • File monthly and quarterly sales tax such as GST, HST and California sales and use tax
  • Manage foreign exchange hedging contracts taken out for foreign currency receivables and payables. Including bi-annual hedging consolidation schedule used in group reporting
  • On a periodic basis apply for letters of credit and bank guarantees as requested by our customers
  • Initiate weekly wire payments as prepared by accounts payable for release by Controller and VP of Finance
  • Assist in ongoing conversion of banks as well as ERP systems
  • Complete requests from Head Office as well as external auditors
  • Help build and maintain an environment of strong internal controls
  • Support Controller in performing other analysis as required

 

Physical Demands

  • Most work is performed in an office environment with occasional trips to the assembly floor and the warehouse
  • Most of work is done while sitting down. Occasional need to stand and talk
  • Works with computer for prolonged periods of time

 

Hardware & Software Requirements

  • One desktop computer, keyboard, monitor, mouse
  • Relevant software, including Made2Manage
  • 100% adherence to company computer policy is required

  • This position is a position of trust and responsibility. Long working hours may be necessary on occasion in order to comply with deadlines (internal and external). This position requires the employee to attend work properly groomed and dressed according to the position

Knowledge & Skills required

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with exposure to treasury
  • Team player with strong presence; self-starter & proactive problem solver
  • Accurate worker; attention to detail and able to work to strict deadlines
  • In-depth understanding of ERP systems
  • High level of proficiency in Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
