Manager, Project Management Office (3‑Month Contract)
Location: Mississauga
Contract Length: 3 Months
Reports to: Managing Director, Mississauga
Are you a strategic, results-driven project leader with a passion for guiding complex technical programs to success? We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Project Management Office to take ownership of high-impact customer projects, lead cross-functional teams, and drive operational excellence from planning through delivery.
In this influential role, you’ll serve as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders and external clients, ensuring alignment, mitigating risks, and delivering exceptional outcomes while mentoring a team of talented Project Managers.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Deliver Major Projects
- Drive planning and execution for high-value, strategic customer projects.
- Ensure delivery on-time, on-budget, and within contractual scope.
- Own outcomes, proactively escalate risks, and implement recovery strategies when needed.
- Hold full responsibility for financial performance across your projects
Champion Project Governance & Best Practices
- Oversee compliance with all project management processes.
- Maintain rigorous documentation and change management for scope, budget, and schedule.
- Approve risk management plans and foster continuous improvement by leveraging historical insights.
Collaborate Across Engineering, Procurement & Operations
- Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Assembly teams to ensure alignment and quality.
- Support procurement activities, validate specifications, and uphold standards such as FAT/SAT protocols.
- Partner with Purchasing on negotiation strategies for key suppliers and subcontractors.
Lead Validation, Testing & Aftermarket Coordination
- Oversee development of validation and testing protocols (risk/safety, functional, performance, failure mode).
- Ensure readiness for customer and internal FATs.
- Coordinate with the Aftermarket team to ensure seamless installation, commissioning, and support transitions.
Mentor & Guide the Project Team
- Manage and support a team of Project Managers.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and leadership to strengthen project delivery capabilities.
Who We’re Looking For
- University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics)
- Must have senior-level experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- A proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability.
- Strong risk management, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or technical project environments.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A mentoring mindset with the ability to guide and uplift team members.
