Mpac and FREYR Battery (“FREYR”) are pleased to announce the next phase of collaboration, starting work together on the pre-engineering phase for the Casting and Unit cell assembly system for FREYR’s U.S. Gigafactory in Georgia, Giga America.
The casting and unit cell assembly system represents the heart of the production line, incorporating all processes from coating to cell stacking and tab welding in a single fully automated system. The latest phase will define the technical requirements for high volume production lines that meet all regulatory needs for operating in the U.S. and incorporating efficiency improvements on the CQP platform.
This body of work represents the second continent that the partnership is working on active projects in and highlights the strong relationship Mpac and FREYR have developed utilising 24M’s SemiSolid technology, building on the framework that was signed in 2022. Mpac continue to innovate within the cell manufacturing sector and are looking forward to working with FREYR collaboratively to reduce global emissions and support the global transition towards electrification.
